LRW Announces New Committee Chairs

LRW Welcomes New Executive Committee Members and Directors
Golden Valley, Minnesota, December 13, 2023 – The League of Railway Women (LRW) recently welcomed two new Executive Committee members and four new directors-at-large to the organization’s 2023/24 board of directors.
Moving into executive officer roles are:
- Secretary: Katie Kachel, principal at Blank Rome Government Relations LLC
- Treasurer: Nicole McKinstry, assistant vice president, sales operations at The Greenbrier Companies
New board members joining as directors-at-large include:
- Kristen Canfield, tax program manager at Indurante & Associates, Inc.
- Sarah Dimmich, partner at Stuart & Branigin LLP
- Shundrekia Stewart, director of sales at Trinity Industries
- Andrea Niethold, director, U.S. government affairs at CN
“It’s a pleasure welcoming Katie and Nicole to their new roles as LRW executive officers, along with four new directors-at-large joining the LRW board,” said Sarah Yurasko, 2023/24 LRW president and senior vice president law and general counsel for the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association. “All of these women bring diverse backgrounds, talents and experiences to the LRW leadership team. LRW Names 2023/24 Railway Woman of the Year Advisory Committee
Golden Valley, Minnesota, December 8, 2023 – The League of Railway Women (LRW) is pleased to announce the 2023/24 Railway Woman of the Year Advisory Committee members. The advisory committee now includes chair Jean Savage and members Stephanie Wiggins and Pam Arpin.The advisory committee's purpose is to provide an impartial executive-level review of Railway Woman of the Year Award candidate applications and recommend a winner. All committee members must be past WOY award recipients. The Railway Woman of the Year Award, co-sponsored by Progressive Railroading, has recognized women’s leadership contributions to the North American rail industry since 1997.

The Advisory Committee Chair is Jean Savage, CEO and President of Trinity Industries Inc. She was appointed CEO and President in 2020 and has served on Trinity’s Board of Directors since 2018. She received LRW’s Railway Woman of the Year Award in 2022.

Advisory Committee Member Stephanie Wiggins is CEO of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). She is the first woman – and first African American woman – to lead Metro. She received LRW’s Railway Woman of the Year Award in 2020.

Advisory Committee Member Pam Arpin was named CP Vice-President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) in July 2021 and assumed the role of CPKC Vice-President and CIO on April 14, 2023, when CP combined with Kansas City Southern. She received LRW’s Railway Woman of the Year Award in 2019.
