LRW Now Accepting Scholarship Applications from Railway Women & Students

Golden Valley, MN, June 1, 2022 – The League of Railway Women (LRW) is proudly investing in the railway community by supporting the pursuit of higher education through its two annual scholarships.
Golden Valley, MN, June 1, 2022 – The League of Railway Women (LRW) is proudly investing in the railway community by supporting the pursuit of higher education through its two annual scholarships.

The Connie Sumara Memorial Scholarship, valued at $3,000 USD, will be awarded to a woman pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree and seeking to further her career in the rail industry. This scholarship honors the memory of former LRW President Connie Sumara, an LRW founder and longest-serving president.

The Future of Railroading Scholarship, valued at $2,000 USD, will be awarded to a student pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree with an interest in supporting the rail industry.

“The LRW endeavours to encourage those aspiring for greatness within the rail industry,” said Crystal Gitchell, LRW Scholarship Chair. “Our generous corporate partners proudly support this annual investment and recognize its importance to the professional development of the rail industry.”

The application deadline for both scholarships is July 2, 2022. Winners will be announced in August.
