Congratulations to this year's recipients!

Ishika Kumari has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the Sue Black Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by The Greenbrier Companies. Ishika is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Business Analytics at Temple University. This scholarship honors the memory of long-time Greenbrier employee, Sue Black, and is awarded to a person pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in the rail industry and is in financial need.

Morgan Winder is the recipient of the 2025 Connie Sumara Memorial Scholarship. Morgan is currently pursuing a law degree at Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase School of Law with the intention of specializing in railroad law. This scholarship honors the memory of former LRW President Connie Sumara, a LRW founder and longest-serving president. It seeks to encourage women pursuing graduate or undergraduate degrees to further their careers within the rail industry.

Nechama Lowy has been selected as this year's Future of Railroading Scholarship recipient. She is studying Environmental Studies at the College of Liberal and Professional Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. The Future of Railroading scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree who is interested in supporting the rail industry.
