League of Railway Women Announces Free Webinar on U.S. Railroads and the U.S. Economy

Webinar Is The First In Organization's "Railroading 101" Series

WASHINGTON, D.C., November 13, 2018 The League of Railway Women (LRW), the nonprofit membership organization committed to improving the railroad industry by connecting women in rail, will hold a free one-hour webinar November 27 at 2 p.m. EST on "U.S. Freight Railroads and the U.S. Economy." The webinar will provide an overview of U.S. freight railroads, current trends in rail traffic and the U.S. economy. In addition, various policy issues of relevance will be highlighted, including a discussion of how those matters impact the economic outlook moving forward.

The webinar presenter is Luisa Fernandez-Willey, Senior Economist with the Association of American Railroads.

"The webinar will be valuable for those new to the industry as well as people looking to broaden their understanding of rail industry operations and issues."

About the Speaker:
Luisa Fernandez-Willey is a senior economist with the Association of American Railroads (AAR). Among other duties, she is responsible for conducting quantitative and qualitative research and analysis on economic and policy issues affecting freight railroads. Additionally, she is responsible for assisting with the data collection and production of several AAR publications. Most recently, she managed the analysis for the Economic and Fiscal Impact Analysis of Class I Railroads. Luisa is a graduate of Kingston University-London and the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
