2024 Scholarship Winners

Congratulations to This Year's Recipients
League of Railway Women is pleased to announce the winners of its annual scholarships:



Rosa Richmond, Claims Director at Amtrak, was awarded the $5,000 Connie Sumara Memorial Scholarship. Rosa is enrolled at the University of Arizona. This scholarship honors the memory of former LRW President Connie Sumara, a LRW founder and longest-serving president. It seeks to encourage women pursuing graduate or undergraduate degrees to further their careers within the rail industry.



Sabrina Davis, Director of Marketing and Partnerships at Metrolink, was awarded the $3,000 Future of Railroading Scholarship. Sabrina is enrolled at Claremont Graduate University. The Future of Railroading scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree who is interested in supporting the rail industry.



Anna Skidmore was awarded the $5,000 Sue Black Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by The Greenbrier Companies. Anna is enrolled at Tulane Law School. This scholarship honors the memory of long-time Greenbrier employee, Sue Black, and is awarded to a person pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in the rail industry and is in financial need.
