Washington, DC, November 2, 2015 – League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW) President Jodi Heldt applauded the October 28, 2015, U.S. Senate confirmation of Sarah Feinberg as administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).

“The League of Railway Industry Women congratulates Sarah Feinberg in her new role as FRA administrator. As only the second woman to lead the agency since it was established in 1966, Feinberg will have the tough but critical job of developing and enforcing rail safety regulations and administering federal grants to improve our nation's rail infrastructure.

“We are delighted at the selection of Sarah Feinberg as the FRA Administrator,” Heldt continued. “Not only is she highly qualified for this position having served as DOT Chief of Staff and as Director of Corporate Communications at Facebook, she is also a great example of how women are taking a larger role in the progress of our industry. Given her knowledge of the rail industry, policy experience and communication skills, I expect she will be a role model for many in our industry, men and women alike.”
