LRIW Now Accepting Nominations for 2016 Outstanding Woman of the Year Award
Washington, DC, May 24, 2016 – The League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW), an organization that promotes women in railroading, is seeking nominations for its 2016 “Outstanding Woman of the Year” award. For over fifteen years, LRIW has been recognizing women who have made significant contributions to the rail industry through their leadership, dedication, and vision. Any woman who works in the North American rail industry is eligible to receive the award, which is co-sponsored by Progressive Railroading.

“We are excited to announce that 2016 Outstanding Woman of the Year nomination process is now open. Honoring women who are making a positive impact on the rail industry is a big part of what we do at LRIW. I encourage anyone in the industry who knows a woman who they feel fits this criteria to submit a nomination,” said Sally Boven, LRIW Woman of the Year Chair and CEO of Reflective Apparel Factory.
Nomination forms can be downloaded from LRIW's website. Nominations will be accepted until August 15. The 2016 recipient will be honored on October 3 at the keynote/opening session of RSI/CMA 2016 Rail Expo & Technical Conference in conjunction with the LRIW's 2016 Annual Conference.
Nomination criteria includes:
- She consistently demonstrates vision, initiative, creativity and guidance in a leadership role within her professional railway field.
- She is innovative, a problem-solver and overcomes challenges.
- She brings consistent excellence to her organization and the surrounding community.
