Washington, DC, May 15, 2017 – The League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW) is seeking nominations for four key Board of Directors positions: Scholarship Chair, Membership Chair, Awards Chair and Director. The terms of these three-year positions will begin in fall 2017.

“We are very excited to once again open these opportunities to women within the railroad industry,” said Jodi Heldt, LRIW President. “The LRIW was founded on the ideology that women in the railroading industry, no matter their professional level, have access to leadership positions where they can contribute to the industry, network, make a difference, and grow professionally. As the organization grows, we're seeking dynamic, talented women to continue our success.”

The LRIW Board of Directors is comprised of 15 female industry professionals from across the United States and Canada, of which four govern the executive committee.

A volunteer association, the LRIW relies heavily on the support and involvement of its Board of Directors. For more information about these positions and how to apply, interested applicants can visit https://www.railwaywomen.org/board, or contact Mary Schroll, LRIW Parliamentarian.

Heldt noted that the LRIW's 2017 Annual Conference will be held September 18-19, in conjunction with Railway Interchange 2017, in Indianapolis, IN.
