League of Railway Women (LRW) Launches New Member-Focused Website - 'www.railwaywomen.org'

Washington, DC, September 7, 2018 – The League of Railway Women (LRW) has launched its new member-focused website - 'www.railwaywomen.org'.  

With the launch of the new site is also the official announcement of the 'League of Railway Women (LRW)' name, previously known as the 'League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW)'. 

"Several months ago, we reached out to our members and asked them what was important to them as members of a rail industry association," said Tanis Peterson, President, League of Railway Women. "Their feedback inspired us to change our name to reflect our new goals and vision for the organization and gave us valuable insight into how we can serve our members on a day to day basis. We will be working to implement new initiatives that address our members' needs and help them achieve their career goals in the railway industry over the next 12 months. We are very excited to be unveiling both the new name and website just before our annual conference at RSI/CMA 2018 Rail Expo and Technical Conference, in Nashville, TN next week." 

The new website includes a 'members-only' portal offering members the opportunity to actively participate in the LRW community through the membership directory, discussion forums, and job board. Members will be able to easily manage their membership profile, including processing payments. Access to event registration and committee information have also improved. 

"We are continuously looking for ways to bring the best value to our members - both corporate and individual," said Luisa Fernandez-Wiley, LRW Membership Chair. "We want to offer a professional network that connects and cultivates women from all across the North American rail industry."

LRW members will receive an email communication that will contain important information about how to log into their new account, update their information and an overview of the site features.
