Join us for a day of activities, or pick and choose:
- Join us for a luncheon featuring Surface Transportation Board (STB) Member Karen Hedlund as she discusses her vision for growth in the railroad industry. (11:00am - 12:30pm; Location: 1825 I (“Eye”) St. NW, Washington, DC, Farragut West Metro Station map).
- Option of two tours (1:15pm - 3:00pm):
- Tour Amtrak’s Union Station and see K9 Demo. Tour will focus on the station’s history and current operations. Then we will hear from an Amtrak police speaker and will see a K9 demo.
- Tour WMATA’s (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, known as “Metro”)’s New Integrated Command and Communications Center at Eisenhower Station in Alexandria, VA.
- Stop by for a reception anytime from 4:00pm-6:00pm at historic rowhome on Capitol Hill, DC near Capitol South Metro Station map)
Price: $20 for members and non-members
Attendees will expect to:
- Network with railroad peers in Washington DC and across the country
- Meet rail industry folks in the Federal Railroad Administration HQ, Amtrak HQ, and government relations professionals from short lines and Class I railroads
- Meet professional staff working on railroad policy on Capitol Hill
- Stay in town to participate in Railroad Day on Capitol Hill 2024 (“RR Day”/advocacy day) the next day on May 8, 2024 see link.
