LRW "Laying the Tracks Forward" Symposium 2026

LRW Fourth Annual Symposium
Laying the Tracks Forward: Strengthening Your Story
June 1, 2026 | Hotel Colee, Atlanta

The League of Railway Women (LRW) successfully concluded its Fourth Annual Symposium last week in Atlanta, bringing together rail industry leaders, innovators, and professionals from across North America. Centered on the theme “Strengthening Your Story,” the event focused on professional evolution, leadership cultivation, and navigating the rapid technological transformations reshaping the rail sector.

Building on the success of past events, the 2026 Symposium shifted the conversation from identifying personal narratives to actively positioning professionals for career advancement and executive leadership. The day-long program offered a high-impact blend of panel discussions, a keynote presentation, a fireside chat, and exclusive off-site operational tours.

"The energy and engagement at this year's symposium underscore the vital role women play in the modernization of our industry," said Lisa Tackach, LRW President. "As the rail sector evolves, LRW remains committed to providing our members with the tools, network, and confidence to drive change and lead the next chapter of rail innovation."

The morning sessions tackled some of the industry’s most pressing topics, kicking off with a dynamic panel titled “Navigating AI in Today’s Rail Industry.” Industry experts explored how artificial intelligence is redefining operational skills and roles, encouraging attendees to embrace AI as a tool to propel their career trajectories. A second panel, “Talent Acquisition on the Move — Navigating a Changing Landscape,” provided actionable insights on how professionals can position themselves as strong candidates for emerging opportunities in a shifting workforce market.

A major highlight of the event was the afternoon breakout sessions, which featured exclusive, concurrent off-site tours. Attendees gained firsthand insights into cutting-edge rail operations and workforce development with a choice between touring the CSX REDI Center or the Norfolk Southern Headquarters.

The success of the 2026 Symposium was made possible through the generous support of its corporate partners, including Norfolk Southern, which served as the organization’s first-ever Premier Sponsor.
