Each year, the League of Railway Women (LRW) recognizes outstanding excellence, dedication, and leadership in the rail industry through two distinct honors:
The Railway Woman of the Year Award
Co-sponsored by Progressive Railroading, this prestigious award honors a woman who has exhibited extraordinary leadership and made significant contributions to the North American rail industry. This award is proudly presented annually at the NRC Conference.
The Member of the Year Award
This award celebrates an individual whose exceptional commitment, volunteerism, and support have directly advanced the mission and growth of the LRW. This honor is presented annually at our Annual Membership Meeting.
The LRW Hall of Fame
A Rare and Lasting Distinction
The League of Railway Women Hall of Fame is a prestigious honor reserved strictly for women who have left an indelible mark on both our organization and the broader rail sector. This distinction is rarely awarded, recognizing individuals who have served as lifelong advocates for the LRW while making a profound, lasting impact on the industry through their visionary leadership and tenure.
In 2018, the League was proud to name its inaugural Hall of Fame inductee, Kathy Keeney.
