The conversation continues!

Following the thought-provoking fireside chat at our recent symposium, we are delighted to welcome back Karen Philbrick for a special Virtual Member Meet-Up this fall. Together, we’ll revisit one of the most important topics facing women today: the intersection of women’s health, well-being, and professional journeys, and how we strive to balance them.

Karen will begin by briefly resetting the conversation, reflecting on key themes that emerged at the symposium. From there, we’ll open the floor for an authentic and engaging Q&A, much like our Fireside Chat, allowing members to share perspectives, ask questions, and learn from one another’s experiences.

Midway through the session, participants will break into smaller discussion groups, allowing participants to connect more personally, exchange ideas, and learn from one another before returning to the main room for further conversation.

Together, we’ll examine the realities of balancing personal well-being with professional ambitions and celebrate the diverse paths career women take to build meaningful, successful lives. Through open dialogue and shared experiences, we’ll learn from one another and leave with new perspectives, practical insights, and stronger connections.

Karen Philbrick
An award-winning scholar and frequently invited keynote speaker, Dr. Karen Philbrick is the executive director of the Mineta Transportation Institute at San José State University. She leads two competitively selected multi-university consortia focused on improving the mobility of people and goods. These include the California State University Transportation Consortium, which unifies the surface transportation research and workforce development efforts of the 23-campus California State University system, which represent and support the geographical, cultural, racial, and socioeconomic diversity that makes our state and nation strong, and the Climate Change and Extreme Events Training and Research Program funded by the FRA.

Join us for an evening of meaningful dialogue, connection, and shared discovery as we continue this important conversation.
