What this privacy policy covers
The League of Railway Women (“LRW”) takes your privacy seriously. Please read the following to learn more about our privacy policy.
How LRW uses your personal information
This policy covers how LRW treats personal information that LRW collects and receives. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.
This policy does not apply to the practices of companies other than LRW or to people that LRW does not employ or manage.
Information Collection and Use
LRW collects personal information when you register with LRW, when you purchase LRW products or services, and when you visit LRW pages.
When you register we ask for information such as your name, email address, and the name of the current or former employer. When you register with LRW and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us. If you decide to purchase any services or products from LRW, we may need to collect your credit card information to bill you for these services or products. LRW does not store your credit card information; therefore, you must re-input your credit card information each time you place an order using our online forms.
LRW uses data tracking software to collect information about activities on our site on an aggregate basis. LRW uses the information to track which pages of the site are most frequently requested to help us improve the site in the future.
LRW does not target or sell products for purchase by children. You must be 18 years of age or older to register with LRW or place orders online.

- We believe it is necessary to share information to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of LRW’s terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.
- We transfer information about you if LRW is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, LRW will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

A cookie is an element of data that a web site can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your computer’s hard drive so we can recognize you when you return. You may set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie.
Your ability to update and delete your account information
LRW does not collect, hold, use or communicate your personal information unless you have given consent to use your information for the purposes specified by LRW in this policy. You can choose not to disclose certain information to us, such as your name and e-mail address. However, if you choose not to disclose your name and e-mail address, you will not be able to register with LRW, thus limited your access to certain portions of the site. Furthermore, your use of some of the applications and services may also be restricted if you chose not to disclose information necessary for billing purposes.
You may change your information at any time. You can update your personal information by selecting “update my profile” after selecting “log in.” You may delete your LRW account by contacting us at (staff@railwaywomen.org)

We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect personal information about you.
Changes to this privacy policy
LRW may update this policy. We may notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your LRW account or by placing a prominent notice on our site.
